Sadly, this is the last time I will order from Hot Wing Express after last night's experience. At 6pm, we called to place our order for delivery: Pad Thai, Red Curry, General Tso's Chicken & Thai Dumplings. I could tell they were busy, because I was placed on hold twice during the conversation. When the young man tried to hang up without getting my address after I had very definitely opened the conversation with "I'd like to place an order for delivery", I wondered if we might be in for a bit of an issue. He had told me the order would be delivered in 45 minutes, so we settled in to wait. An hour and 15 minutes later, I called the restaurant to check from my house phone - the same phone I had placed the order from - and after the young man greeted me, he immediately hung up! Let me be clear, he didn't say "can you please hold", just "thank you for calling Hot Wing Express...pause...pause...click" while I am politely beginning to explain that I'm calling to check on an order, blah blah blah. So at first I thought it was an issue with my land line, after I tried twice with the house phone. Then it happened 3 times with my cell phone. The 5th time he just picked up the phone, no salutation, and disconnected. On the 6th call, I got through, and after actually being placed on hold, spoke to the same young man who had taken my order. Having had 3 kids work in food service, I am very sympathetic to the issues that happen in restaurants, but at this point, we're hungry and beginning to wonder if our order has been misplaced. He apologizes for hanging up on me but asks if my number was "unavailable" because he just hung ip on an unavailable number "like 5 times". No, it was 2 different, available numbers, and you didn't mind answering the same number when you took the order an hour and a half ago! He tells me that our order is READY and....wait for it...the delivery guy will be back in a little bit to bring it to us!!! So, my food is siting there, waiting on a driver? Yum! I express my concern about this timing, and he asks if I want to speak to a manager. Sure, because, at this point, I'm thinking, the least they can do is offer me a discount, a gift certificate for the next meal - something to ensure my repeat business! Something, perhaps, other an an apology and an excuse that "It's really, really busy tonight!". We aren't even in the full swing of tourist season here at the beach - what gives, guys? Our food finally arrived, the order was almost correct - no chicken in the Pad Thai, which we had requested and paid for, just to add insult to injury. The delivery guy was super apologetic, and polite. We had ordered medium spice on everything, as usual, and it was way more spicy than medium. Not intolerable, but definitely not medium. The sad part is, the food is good - but we paid $45 for a meal that took 2 hours to be delivered literally a few blocks, and was incorrectly prepared. I just can't bring myself to do it again. Off to find better Thai delivery in Myrtle Beach!!

I've ordered here several times while at work, and while I appreciate delivery when it's late and I'm starving ... I'd appreciate good food even more. First time order: plain chicken wings and Thai basil chicken over white rice. The wings weren't crispy, rather they looked burnt and were soggy with blah flavor. The basil chicken was basically sautéed ground chicken with a hint of basil and no other veggies over white rice. Very underwhelming. Tried again last night. This order Tom Yum Chicken soup, and the Angel Hair Curry noodles (asked for it to be made HOT- spicy ). The soup was good, it had that spicy/lemongrass flavor I love in Tom Yum soup, but this is the first time I've ever had green peas in my Tom Yum soup. Overall I'd give the soup a 4 star review. I'd order it again. The Angel Hair Curry noodles... This is what other Chinese restaurants would call Singapore Chow Mei Fun or Pancit. Shrimp ( about 3 of them in the whole dish), pork, chicken and veggies in a yellow curry mixed with very thin rice noodles that are actually a little thinner than angel hair. When it's good, it's awesome. This.,, this was NOT awesome. I think the cook grabbed the wrong shaker and instead of HOT ( spicy), what I got was very mild and sort of sweet. I almost feel like I tasted cinnamon or nutmeg. It was strange and not all that curry flavored. Plus, the meat and veggies weren't mixed in with noodles. They were under and on top of the noodles with this mass of noodles in between . I won't be ordering that again. But with limited places besides pizza that will deliver to a hospital late at night ... I just know in hungry desperation I'll order again. My coworkers seem to like the pad Thai here so maybe I'll try that sometime.

I could not be more frustrated with Hot Wing Express and will not be back to give them business. My boyfriend and I were weekly customers despite their incredibly inconvenient hours (closed 2 days out of the week and only open 4-10 the rest) - but no big deal we made it work and it was convenient to get him wings and myself pad thai at the same place. However, unfortunately this place has done nothing but go downhill since switching owners several years ago. For the last month my calls have gone unanswered. Today I tried one more time, only to hear a new recording on the other end of my unanswered call which said "WE'RE SORRY WE MISSED YOU, WE ARE OPEN 5PM OR LATER ON MOST DAYS". I'm sorry what?! How dare you expect me to call every day at a reasonable time past 5 just to check and see if you're open. Get some business sense before you run this place into the ground. We now have a new weekly ritual. I get pad thai from Pad Thai Express (amazing!!) and my boyfriend gets wings from Bumstead's Pub, both of which we like better AND have reliable business hours. So thanks for making our week slightly less convenient but much more delicious.

LOVE this place!! The Thai food is out of this world. Everything I've tried has been delicious but my all time favorite is the Drunken Noodles.

Bad review from me. The rice was not as proportional to the amount of sesame chicken that came with it. The vegetable lo mein looks like a pile of mess they tossed in together at the last minute. I ordered this over the phone to be delivered to my hotel room and it was a bit unprofessional to hear the woman over the phone who took my order yell out to see if they delivered and if so, would they be able to deliver to the hotel I was staying at. Then, the woman told me it would get here in about 40-45 minutes ... I waited a fucking hour and a half. AN HOUR AND A HALF.. Initially when it hit the 1-hour mark -- I called the place and the asian lady (you can tell she's asian by the accent -- I don't care for the offense; I'm asian myself) told me it is out for delivery and it may take a little longer because they are probably sending out multiple orders before and after me. Um.. I get the before part, but after? Are you telling me the orders ordered after me are sent before me? What the fuck??? Anyways, I said ok, thanks, bye ... and about 30 minutes later ... *knock on the door* .. FINALLY. If you call yourself an "express" place .. be what you say; unless since you're called "hot wing" express .. you only provide "express" if I had ordered "hot wings." What the fuck ever. Never ordering from this place again.

This place is a strange bird. They do American (wings, burgers, subs ect) Thai and Chinese food. Gave them a call for delivery to our room so we could eat on our balcony while over looking the ocean. I ordered the JUMBO wings which were anything but. I got 6 very average, ordinary size wings that were dry and way OVER PRICED at 79 cents a wing. The small cup of bleu cheese dressing was thin, watery and flavorless. My wife however got a very large portion of tofu lo mein which was lo mein noodles stir fried with vegetables and chunks of tofu. She said it was very good and was to much for her to finish, so she took pity on me and let me have the rest. It was way better then my wings. My wife's meal and the quick delivery saved this place from a two star rating. If we order her again, I will try one of the Chinese meals and skip the over priced, under sized wings.

Boyfriend and I, on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Craving the beautiful sun we lack of in Boston... it's raining in Myrtle Beach, all day long, and locals say it's NEVER like this... So, we decided to enjoy our great hotel room and order some delivery. We read this place was good so we decided to give it a try. They advertise a pretty good deal: Med 1 topping pizza & 15 wings for $19.99. Sweet deal, right?! Wrong. I'll tell you why: I called and was asked if okay to be put on hold immediately (don't get me wrong, it happens all the time but, here's why I tell you), when I ordered at 7:02pm I had a 7 minute call, of that, 5 1/2 minutes I was on hold! Anyhow, I asked for this deal, "# whatever it was" and asked if they can give us three flavors for the wings, the guy immediately said NO. That's it. I asked, what about two flavors? And he had a hard time with that question... then said, "how about you get # whatever and buy 20 wings", I said: "No, thank you. I'd like # whatever. Why can't I get two flavors for my 15 wings?" (In MA I get two flavors for 8 wings, 3 for 15 wings!) He said: "we only do one flavor, two flavors on 20 wings: so I asked to be charged for 5 extra wings and get two flavors. He said that wasn't possible. End of the story. (I can't believe we've been the only people ever asking for this. Great customer service would tell you to add this option or to allow 2 flavors for 15 wings, after all they fry all the wings together and just add the premade flavor afterward) We were hungry so I ordered # whatever... That'll be $24.99. I thought it was $19.99? "Delivery and taxes". Fine... 1 hour later, I still don't have my food. I called the place, the guy immediately asked if okay to be put on hold, again. Fine. 3 1/2 minute call, I was on hold for 3 minutes! My food was delivered 1hr 10 minutes after I first placed my order... We're good tippers, not this time. Wings flavor was okay, not bad but, I've had much better. Teriyaki flavor btw. Asked for blue cheese, got ranch. Pizza sauce has a weird flavor, I tell this to my boyfriend and kept eating... And thought to myself "I hope it doesn't upset my stomach. Nahh why would it? I eat just about everything". Next day, my stomach is a mess and I'm forced to spend a beautiful morning in my hotel room because I can't dare to leave the freaking bathroom. Oh yes, romantic vacation with the boyfriend, I think he loved me more after all this... If they had just handled the two wings flavor better and not taken over one hour to deliver our food (place is located less than a mile from the hotel), I would've given them at least 3 stars. I still would've gotten sick but, the GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES COUNT. Bottom line, service and food at this place, suck. Will come back to Myrtle Beach, never to this place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
